This Privacy Policy explains how SmartCast Pro handles information when you use casting, remote control, screen mirroring, private vault, voice, subscription, notification, analytics, crash reporting, and remote configuration features.
Information We Collect or Process
Depending on the features you use, SmartCast Pro may collect or process:
- Local network and device information, including nearby Chromecast, Google Cast, Android TV, and compatible receiver names, device identifiers, model names, IP addresses, connection status, and pairing status.
- Photos, videos, and files you select from your photo library, file picker, or private vault.
- Private vault content that you intentionally import into the app. This content is stored locally on your device in app storage.
- Screen video frames captured by Apple's ReplayKit broadcast extension while you actively mirror your screen.
- Microphone audio and speech recognition results when you use TV voice search or voice remote features.
- Subscription information, including product identifiers, purchase state, transaction status, and entitlement status handled through Apple StoreKit.
- App preferences, including onboarding status, theme choice, selected device records, premium access state, private vault passcode settings, and security question settings.
- Notification permission status and notification-related interactions if you allow notifications.
- Analytics events such as app launches, screen views, feature usage, button taps, subscription flow events, casting actions, remote control actions, mirroring actions, and notification interactions.
- Firebase Remote Config information, including Firebase installation identifiers and related app or device attributes used to fetch and apply app configuration values.
- Crash and diagnostic information, including crash logs, stack traces, app state at crash time, device model, operating system version, app version, timestamps, installation identifiers, and related diagnostic logs.
- Technical information such as connection diagnostics, WebRTC connection statistics, signaling room identifiers, and error messages used to operate casting and mirroring features.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Discover and connect to compatible TVs and casting devices on your local network.
- Send remote control commands, keyboard input, app launch commands, and voice search data to your selected TV.
- Cast selected photos, videos, and files to your TV.
- Mirror your screen to a receiver during an active mirroring session.
- Store and display private vault content locally inside the app.
- Process, verify, restore, and unlock subscription purchases through Apple.
- Send notifications you have allowed.
- Understand feature usage through analytics events.
- Remotely manage app settings, feature availability, paywall content, experiments, and app behavior without requiring an app update.
- Detect, investigate, prioritize, and fix crashes, bugs, and performance issues.
- Save your preferences and selected device information.
- Diagnose connection problems and improve reliability.
Permissions
SmartCast Pro may ask for Local Network, Bonjour services, Photo Library, Microphone, Speech Recognition, Screen Recording/Broadcast, and Notifications permissions. These permissions are requested only when needed for related app features.
Local Storage
SmartCast Pro stores app preferences, selected device records, subscription entitlement flags, and private vault content on your device. Private vault content is not uploaded by SmartCast Pro to our servers as part of the vault feature. If you delete the app, data stored only inside the app may be deleted by iOS.
Casting and Local Network Streaming
When you cast selected media, SmartCast Pro may create a temporary local web server on your device so the selected TV can stream that media over your Wi-Fi network. This stream is intended for devices on your local network during the casting session. Do not use casting on networks you do not trust.
Screen Mirroring and WebRTC
When you start screen mirroring, the broadcast extension captures screen video frames and sends them to your selected receiver using WebRTC. SmartCast Pro may use signaling, STUN, or TURN infrastructure to establish and maintain the connection. Signaling messages can include temporary room IDs, session descriptions, ICE candidates, IP-related network routing information, connection state, and diagnostic information.
Voice Features
When you use voice search or voice remote features, microphone audio may be captured, converted, sent to your selected TV for voice input, and sent to Apple's speech recognition service for transcription where applicable. SmartCast Pro does not use voice input for advertising or tracking.
Subscriptions and Payments
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. SmartCast Pro receives purchase and entitlement information from Apple to unlock premium features, but we do not receive your full payment card number or Apple ID password.
Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Remote Config
SmartCast Pro may use Firebase Analytics to collect app usage events, Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic information, and Firebase Remote Config to remotely manage app settings, feature availability, paywall content, experiments, and app behavior. Firebase is provided by Google. Remote Config may use Firebase installation identifiers and related app or device attributes to return configuration values for your app instance. If we use Remote Config conditions, Analytics audiences, A/B Testing, or personalization, Remote Config may work with Firebase Analytics data to deliver different configurations and measure results. We do not intentionally send sensitive private vault content, photos, videos, files, microphone audio, speech transcripts, or screen mirroring video content to Firebase as analytics, crash reporting, or Remote Config data.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may transmit information only as needed to provide the features you use, including to your selected TV or receiver, Apple, Google Cast-compatible services and devices, Google Firebase, WebRTC signaling/STUN/TURN infrastructure, or where required by law.
Data Retention
Local preferences and private vault content remain on your device until you delete them, reset the app, or uninstall the app. Temporary casting files, mirroring session data, voice buffers, and connection diagnostics are intended to be used only for the active feature session or short-term troubleshooting. Firebase, Apple, and other providers may retain data according to their own policies and your project settings.
Your Choices
You can grant or revoke permissions in iOS Settings, delete private vault items inside the app, disconnect from casting devices, stop screen mirroring, manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple ID subscription settings, disable notifications in iOS Settings, and delete the app to remove app-local data stored by SmartCast Pro, subject to iOS backup and system behavior.
Children's Privacy
SmartCast Pro is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information handled by the app. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for using trusted Wi-Fi networks, protecting your device passcode, and stopping casting or mirroring when appropriate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when app features, permissions, services, or legal requirements change.
